POSITION PURPOSE
As a Driver Helper, you will be responsible for the distribution and delivery of products to a wide array of customers. In this position, Driver Helpers will be expected to partner with drivers to load, unload, lift and carry products. You will also update orders via a hand-held device, serve as a back-up driver (as needed), and will be required to frequently interact with Home Depot Pro leaders and associates, store leaders and associates, and customers.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
70% Delivering Product to Our Customers
Communicate delivery updates to customers and stores. Loading the truck in an efficient manner for unload and confirming customer orders. Climbing in and out of the delivery cab to accommodate customer deliveries throughout the day. Obtaining delivery confirmation via manual or electronic methods.

20% Systematically Updating the Status of Orders
Become a subject matter expert on hand-held device. Ensure all systemic updates to orders are accurate and timely.

10% Serving as Back-up Driver
Serve as a back-up driver in the event the driver you are partnered with is unable to drive.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Travel:
No overnight travel required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education Required:
Minimal or no education requirements.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: Less than 1 year

Physical Requirements:
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as: dust, fumes or odors.

As a Driver Helper, you must be a team player with excellent customer service skills and the drive to succeed. Qualified candidates are self-motivated, responsible, highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Valid, active Driver’s License
Clean Motor Vehicle Record
Ability to load and unload heavy items
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to read maps and follow directions
