JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics seeks to hire an undergraduate student, recent graduate, or a graduate student to work part-time as a Research Assistant to assist in developing software pipelines to reduce the spectroscopic data and measure precise radial velocities throughout the 2020/2021 academic year. The candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting follow-up observations of interesting stellar targets under the supervision of Dr. Ian Czekala. The candidate will also lead publication of the data in a manuscript to be submitted to the American Astronomical Society journals. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
